Production of value-added compounds by biological processes

 

This research line started with the study of enzymatic systems susceptible to be applied to biotransformation processes with the purpose of replacing living microorganisms. Subsequently, several kinds of biotransformations of interest in the industry have been studied in order to replace some chemical synthesis steps of value-added compounds by biological processes that can provide economic and operational advantages.
