The research group "Biological and Enzymatic Reactors" (TEP-105) started in 1993 under the Andalusian Plan for Research, Technological Development and Innovation (PAIDI). The research group has developed its research activities in the field engineering of biological processes focuss on developing based on the use of microorganisms by applying the principles of Chemical Engineering and mainly focused on providing technology solutions as an alternative to other conventional process technologies.

The work developed by the research group can fit into 4 lines of research:

1. Biodesulfurization and biofiltration of effluents gases (biogas and air)

2. Production of value-added compounds by biological process

3. Bioremediation of soils and/or contaminated sludge by heavy metals

4. Vinegar production

The head researcher is CANTERO MORENO DOMINGO
